KLE PGAIET (KLE University Post Graduate All India Entrance Test)

Exam Details:

The University shall be conducting KLE University Post-Graduate AllIndia Entrance-Test-2012 (KLE-PGAIET-2012) on Saturday, the 28th January  2012 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at  ninteen centers across the country viz. Belgaum, Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Hyderabad, Vijaywada, Kolkata, Panjim, Indore, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Chennai, Rajkot, Cochin and Guwahati for admission to various Post-Graduate Degree/Diploma Courses(Medical/Dental) in the constituent colleges of the University viz.  J. N. Medical College, Belgaum and KLE V. K. Institute of Dental Sciences, Belgaum, for the academic session 2012-13.

Eligibility Criteria:

Requisite qualifications for admission to Medical / Dental PG Degree and  Diploma courses: The candidate seeking admission to these courses should have passed MBBS phase III/Final BDS examinations from the college recognized by Medical Council/ Dental Council of India.

Those of the students who have taken additional 4 (Four) or more than 4 (Four) extra attempts (i.e. who have failed for four times) during the entire MBBS/ BDS course are not eligible to apply for admission to PG Degree/ PG Diploma courses. Production of attempt certificate from the Head of the Institution is mandatory.

As per the regulations of statutory bodies, as laid out in Post Graduate regulations the minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test for eligibility for admission to Post Graduate Course shall be 50 percent.  

The candidate should have completed the compulsory rotating internship / would be completing by 30th of April 2012.

Foreign / PIO / NRI students need not appear for KLEU-PGAIET 2012. Their admission will be based on qualifying examination marks.

DNB CET (Diplomate of National Board Centralized Entrance Test)

Exam Details:

The Government of India established the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in 1975 with the objective of improving the quality of the Medical Education by establishing high and uniform standards of postgraduate examinations in modern medicine on an all India basis and utilizing existing infrastructure for capacity building. 

NBE at present conducts postgraduate and postdoctoral examinations in approved specialties leading to the award of Diplomate of National Board. The Medical Council of India has laid down standards for postgraduate examinations conducted by various medical colleges and affiliated to concerned universities and other institutions, yet the levels of proficiency and standards of evaluation vary considerably in these institutions.

The Examinations conducted by NBE provide a common standard and mechanism of evaluation of minimum level of attainment of the knowledge and competencies for which postgraduate courses were started in medical institutions. Moreover, intra country and international comparisons are facilitated with the availability of commonly accepted evaluation mechanism.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates who are in possession of MBBS degree/Provisional Pass Certificate recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 and possess permanent / provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India and have completed one year of internship/likely to complete on or before 31st January 2013 may apply for CET through online application.

Candidates found to be ineligible at any stage of DNB-CET will not be permitted to appear in the examination. In an unlikely event of any ineligible candidate appearing and/or being successful in the DNB-CET, the results/candidature of such candidate shall be cancelled and/or are deemed to be cancelled.

Requests for appearing in DNB-CET from candidates completing internship after 31st January 2013 shall be summarily rejected. 

Candidate who are completing their internship after 31st January 2013 or likely to complete after 31st January 2013 need not apply in the DNB-CET exam as they shall be ineligible to participate at any stage of the admission process.

Candidates already pursuing a MD/MS or DNB course are not eligible to appear for the DNB-CET till such time they have completed the duration of prescribed course or have been discharged from the course. (w.e.f. DNB – CET January 2013 Admission Session)

Registration and /or appearance in DNB-CET does not confer any automatic rights upon the candidate for admission at NBE accredited hospital / institute.

Registration with M.C.I./State Medical Council/ is necessary and its documentary proof should be furnished at the time of counseling.

Exam Pattern :

DNB-CET is an entrance examination and is an essential pre-requisite for entry to DNB Broad Specialty and Post MBBS Direct 6 years super specialty courses.  The next session of entrance examination shall be held in November 2012 and conducted as computer-based test only.

The test comprises 180 multiple choice, single correct response questions in English language only.

The examination shall be a multiple choice questions test delivered using computer network as per scheme prescribed. 

Kindly note that the weightage of MCQ’s is indicative and purely provisional. NBE reserves its rights to alter / vary / amend the same.  

Negative Marking : There shall be no negative marking.

Admission Procedure:

Candidates successful in the DNB-CET shall be asked to participate in a Centralized merit based counseling conducted by National Board of Examinations for allotment of DNB seats at NBE accredited Institutions/hospitals/medical colleges in order of their merit and candidate shall be able to opt for the NBE accredited institution/ hospital/medical college of their choice as per availability at their merit.

COMEDK PGET (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Post Graduate Entrance Test)

Exam Details:

COMEDK will conduct a separate entrance test for Medical and a separate entrance test for Dental Post Graduate courses called 'COMEDK PGET-2013', for candidates seeking admission to Post Graduate courses in Medical and Dental studies.

The entrance test is being conducted for use by COMEDK Member Institutions only. The COMEDK entrance test is mandatory for candidates seeking admissions for the Post Graduate courses in COMEDK Member Institutions subject to the eligibility as prescribed by MCI/DCI.

The COMEDK PGET-2013 test scores are valid only for admissions during the academic year 2013-2014.

The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association, in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students seeking admission to the member institutions, have formed "Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka" (COMEDK).

COMEDK has been assigned the task of organising a common entrance test for the academic year 2013-2014, for Indian national candidates aspiring to pursue Post Graduate Courses in Medicine and Dentistry in the state of Karnataka, in Member Institutions of the Consortium (Medical and Dental Colleges).

COMEDK entrance test & publication of test score and rank list will be followed by centralized counseling (Single window). The details will be published in due course on our website.

The list of the Member Institutions who have indicated their participation in the COMEDK testing program, along with the courses offered by them, is published as part of this brochure, on our website.

Applicants are advised to read this brochure thoroughly and familiarise themselves with the test procedures.

Eligibility Criteria:

Degree / Diploma Programs:

Applicants must meet all requirements stipulated by MCI / DCI. Accordingly, they should have successfully passed their M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. from an institution recognized by MCI / DCI, and must have completed or completing their internship by 30/04/2013 at the latest.

MCI / DCI Norms:

Every student, selected for admission to the Post Graduate Medical / Dental course in any of the Medical / Dental institutions in the country, must possess recognized M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. degree or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India, or any of the State Medical / Dental Council or should obtain the same with in one month from the date of admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.

In the case of an Indian national with the recognized degree from Foreign University, the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for the registration, grant temporary/permanent registration for the duration of the Post Graduate training restricted to the college / institution to which the applicant is admitted for the time being exclusively for Post Graduate studies. Temporary/Permanent registration to such candidates shall be subject to the condition that the degree is duly registered in the country where the degree is obtained and is recognized by the corresponding Council or concerned authority in India also.

As per the Existing Post Graduate Regulation of Medical Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the Entrance Test (COMEDK PGET-2013) for eligibility and admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be 50% for General Merit candidates and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes (All India) and Other Backward Classes belonging to Karnataka State only.

As specified by the Dental Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the Entrance Test (COMEDK PGET-2013) for eligibility and admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be 50% for General Merit candidates and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes (All India) and Other Backward Classes belonging to Karnataka State only.

Note: Only Candidates who are due to complete the internship on or before 30/04/2013 are eligible.

Rank list / Rank Card will be prepared only for those candidates who become eligible for admission to Post Graduate Courses as per the regulations of Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India Regulations.

Candidates who have appeared for COMEDK PGET during the last three years and selected a clinical PG Degree Seat and got admitted to any of the COMEDK Member Institutions are NOT allowed to appear for COMEDK PGET-2013.

Exam Pattern :

The scope of the syllabi for the Post Graduate Medical / Dental entrance test is based on the M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. syllabus as prescribed by MCI / DCI respectively.

There will be one separate test for PG Medical and one separate test for PG Dental Courses. Each test will have 180 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ).

The time allotted for the test would be 180 minutes. The test will begin at 10:00 AM and end at 01:00 PM

Candidates are required to mark their answers in an OMR (Optical Mark Reader) Answer Sheet.

Each correct answer is awarded one mark.

There will be no negative marking.

However, in the event of a tie in score the principle of least negative responses (number of wrong answer) will be adopted. In addition, if required, other methods may be adapted to break ties vide 5.4.2.

No mark/s will be awarded for multiple marking (marking multiple responses) for any question.

CMC PG AWT (Christian Medical College Ludhiana Entrance Test Post graduate Courses)

Christian Medical College, Ludhiana Society conducts Medical Entrance Test for admitting candidates in Christian Medical College Ludhiana.

This Medical Entrance Examination is held for Post graduate Courses (PG), Namely :

Eligibility Criteria:

1) The candidate must be an Indian National.

2) A candidate who holds MBBS degree from a medical college recognized by MCI or a foreign medical degree included in the schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and who has obtained full registration from the Medical Council of India or any of the State Medical Councils after completing compulsory rotating internship shall be eligible for admission to Christian Medical College, Ludhiana.

3) Candidates who have obtained their MBBS from colleges which are not recognized by Medical Council of India will not be granted admission.

4) An Indian National who qualified from a Foreign University / School must produce an eligibility certificate recognizing the qualifying examination as equivalent to MBBS as recognized by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences and the Medical Council of India. This may be obtained from the

6) No condonation of compulsory rotating internship shall be accepted unless approved by the Medical Council of India along with necessary proof of the approval of the Medical Council of India. The condonation of compulsory rotating internship shall be restricted to the period up to 31.03.2013 and not beyond that date.

7) Registration with the MCI / State Medical council is necessary and its documentary proof shall be furnished at the time of counselling.

8) PG Diploma candidates currently registered for a diploma course under any university including Baba Farid University of Health Sciences may only be considered as per the existing rules and regulations of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.

CANDIDATES WHO HAVE NOT COMPLETED THEIR SERVICE OBLIGATION OF TWO YEARS, AS REQUIRED FOR CANDIDATES OF CMC LUDHIANA, FOR ANY REASON AND THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN RELEASED FROM THE SERVICE OBLIGATION PREMATURELY WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR POST GRADUATION IN CMC LUDHIANA, IN ANY CATEGORY.

Exam Pattern :

An eligible applicant will be evaluated as per the schedule given below and the cumulative result will be the basis of admission.

The Total marks will be 200.

ADMISSION WRITTEN TEST (AWT): Maximum marks: 200 TIME: 1:00PM TO 4:00PM

This will be a common written examination for postgraduate diploma and degree courses, consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions from the MBBS syllabus, carrying one mark each.

There is no negative marking. 

A candidate will be required to score 50% marks in the Written Test in order to qualify.

Eligibility requirements to appear for BLDEU-PGET-2013 and admission to the medical Post Graduate Diploma and Degree Courses are :

3. The candidate should have completed the compulsory rotating internship / would be completing by 30th April 2013. 

4. Foreign / PIO / NRI students are exempted from BLDEU-PGET-2013. Their admission will be based on qualifying examination marks.
