AIPGMET (All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test AIPGMET)

Exam Details:
All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test is a Medical Entrance Test conducted for admissions to various 
Post Graduate Medical Courses under D.Y. Patil Medical College, Kolhapur, a constituent college of D.Y. Patil University. 
Post Graduate Courses for which this All India Medical Entrance Test is conducted
• M.D - General medicine, Pediatrics, Pathology, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Anesthesiology, Microbiology, Physiology. 
(MS general surgery and MD general medicine subject to MCI recognition)
• M.S - General surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, ENT (Otorhinolaryngology), Anatomy, Orthopedics.
• Diplomas- DGO, D.Ortho., DCH.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates who possess Indian Nationality, with a proof in the form of Nationality Certificate / valid passport, is eligible to appear for AIPGMET.
Candidate should have passed final M.B.B.S. examination from a recognized medical college, included in the schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
Candidates, who have obtained registration either from the Medical Council of India or from authorized State Medical Council after completing one-year compulsory rotating internship, are also eligible.
A candidate, who is still undergoing one-year compulsory rotating internship and is likely to complete it by 31st March of the year of the Examination, is also eligible to appear at the AIPGMET. His / Her selection will be subject to completion of compulsory rotating internship of one year and registration before 15th April. He / she will have to submit documentary evidence from the Principal / Dean of the college regarding the anticipated date of completion of internship along with the application, failing which, his / her application shall be rejected.
NRI, PIO or FN candidates who have passed the M.B.B.S. or equivalent examination exam from a college outside India shall be eligible for the admission, provided he/she obtains registration from the Medical Council of India.

Exam Pattern:
AIPGMET consists of 300 marks containing 300 multiple choice questions of one mark each of MBBS examination level. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
AIPGMET Exam Syllabus: All subjects of M.B.B.S. Course.

How to apply:
For applying the brochures can be obtained from the University office on payment of Rs.1500 in cash or D.D.  OR
(if required by post) through a requisition letter (specifying the brochure required) along with a demand draft of Rs.1750 drawn on any nationalized bank, in favor of "Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth", payable at Pune. OR by downloading from the University Website. The downloaded form is to be submitted along with a demand draft of Rs.3750 (Form Fee + Test Fee +Postal charges).

Date of Declaration of Result: Wednesday 27th February 2013
Date of Counseling and Admission: 21st and 25th March 2013
Last Date for Receipt of: Up to 5.00 pm on 25-01-2013

Admission Procedure:
Candidate should obtain 50 % or more marks at AIPGMET to qualify for admission.
The provisional selection for the General Seats in the Post Graduate courses will be done on the basis of merit in the All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test.
When all the Seats in a given course are filled admission of students to that course will instantaneously cease and Dr. D. Y. Patil University, Pune, will not be responsible for non-availability of seats and non-allotment of seats to rest of the candidates.
Management Seats: 50% seats are reserved as management seats. The candidate desirous of seeking admission against management seats should apply separately in the prescribed form, available on the University Website. The selection of candidates for management seats will be done according to the inter se merit of the applicants in the entrance test.
Tie Break for Equal Marks
In case two or more students obtain an equal number of marks at the entrance test i.e. in case of a tie, the following procedure shall be adopted for deciding the final merit: If there is a tie between two or more candidates having equal number of marks at the entrance test
First Level: The candidate, having more marks in the final year of M.B.B.S. examination shall be preferred. If the tie still persists, then-
Second Level: The Candidate, having higher aggregate marks in all the university examinations of M.B.B.S. course shall be preferred. If the tie still persists, then -
Third Level: The candidate, having more marks in the subject of his / her choice (for PG) at the university examination of the M.B.B.S. course shall be preferred.
Result and Merit List
The merit list will be displayed on the notice board of Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College in March and will also be available on website at www.dypatiluniversity.org.
Results of the individual candidate will not be communicated on telephone or by post
There shall be no rechecking / revaluation of answer sheets and verification of marks of the AIPGMET.
