St .Johns Medical college PG Entrance exam

Exam Details:

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates having qualified for the M.B.B.S Degree from any University recognised by the Medical Council of India and have satisfactorily completed the Rotating Compulsory Internship of one year before the starting of the courses, and registered with the Indian Medical Council and thereafter preferably served in India for a period of at least TWO years in medically underserved areas, recognised as such by this Institution, are eligible to apply for the Post graduate Degree and Diploma courses.
A person can apply for any four degree courses. In specialities with both P.G. degree & diploma, a single application for the subject can be made. Allotment of degree/diploma seats will be according to the final merit list.
Special consideration will be given to alumni of St. John's Medical College who have served in medically underserved areas and underprivileged people, recognised as such by the College.
Candidates who have taken more than TWO years beyond the minimum period required, to pass the M.B.B.S. course are ordinarily not eligible to apply for a post-graduate course.

How to apply:
APPLICATION FORMS
The candidate while submitting duly filled application form has to make the following payments towards application/ entrance exam fees.
1.        A DD for Rs. 1,000/- which includes
Application form fees
Entrance test fee for one subject
2.        Entrance test fees for additional subjects: Rs.700/- per subject.
(Example:
i.                     If a candidate wishes to apply for two subjects, he/ she has to pay Rs.1000 + Rs. 700 x 1 = Rs. 1700/-
ii.                   If a candidate wishes to apply for three subjects, he/ she has to pay Rs.1000 + Rs. 700 x 2 = Rs. 2400/-
iii.                 If a candidate wishes to apply for four subjects, he/ she has to pay Rs.1000 + Rs. 700 x 3=Rs. 3100/-)
3.        The payment should be made by crossed Demand Draft (non - refundable) or its equivalent in the case of candidates applying from abroad in favour of "St. John's Medical College" payable at Bangalore. No other mode of payment is acceptable.
Candidates who collect application form and prospectus in person should submit the application form with the above mentioned documents without additional payment in case he/she applies for one subject.
·         In case he/she applies for two subjects, a DD for Rs. 700/- needs to be enclosed.
·         If he/she applies for three subjects, a DD for Rs. 1,400/-
·         For four subjects a DD for Rs. 2,100/-
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS
All particulars in the application form should be furnished carefully and in BLOCK LETTERS. Applications which are incomplete will not be considered; no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. The College will not take any responsibility for delay in the receipt or loss of application in postal transit.
THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS ARE TO BE SUBMITTED
                                1.            Registration form duly filled in
                                2.            Application/Entrance Exam fees as mentioned above
                                3.            Attested copies of the following:
a.        M.B.B.S. Degree or Provisional Pass Certificate.
b.       Statements of marks of all M.B.B.S. Examinations (as in the form enclosed).
c.        Caste Certificate (if SC/ST from Karnataka).
d.       Compulsory Rotating Internship Certificate.
e.        A Certificate from the authority concerned to the effect that the Hospital where internship was done is a teaching Hospital or recognised by the University/ Medical Council of India for Internship training as the case may be.
f.         State Medical Council Registration Certificate.
g.       Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution where the candidate studied for M.B.B.S. Course.
h.       One copy of a recent passport size photograph affixed on the Hall Ticket duly completed. (Attestation will be done by the Registrar)
i.         Senior House Surgeoncy/Junior Residency Certificate or Service Certificate from the competent authority, whichever is applicable.
j.         Certificates showing distinctions, scholarships, honours, medals etc. (MBBS only)
k.       Post-graduate diploma or degree certificates, if any.
l.         A certificate from the head of the Institution last attended, giving details of the number of attempts at each examination and failures, if any.
m.     A certificate showing extra-curricular activities / Sports (Intercollegiate/State only).
n.       For former students of this Institution a Certificate of service in rural and underserved areas in this country from the authority concerned and approved by the Director of this Institution.
o.       Along with Application Form, the applicant should enclose 2 envelopes, with your name and address and with a
Rs. 22/- postal stamp affixed on one cover only.
Completed application forms along with the documents mentioned under 5.2(III) of the Prospectus, should be submitted either in person or by post to: the Registrar, Admissions Office, St. John's Medical College, Bangalore - 560 034, Karnataka, India.
Note: Unless all the above mentioned ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES are produced when called for Interview, no interview will be conducted. Migration and Transfer certificates to be enclosed along with the originals. All Foreign students require a "No Objection Certificate" from Secretary, Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi - 110 011 before admission to the College. Should a candidate secure admission, all the original certificates will be deposited in the College until completion of the Course.

Admission Procedure:
There will be an Entrance Test consisting of one common written objective type paper and Interviews. This paper will cover all the undergraduate M.B.B.S. subjects. There will also be a few questions on Values. The Test will be conducted only at Bangalore. Answers must be marked with a pencil in the booklet provided.
The examination commences at 9.00 a.m. and the duration of the paper is 3 hrs. All candidates who wish to take the written test are required to be in their assigned seats at the time, date and place stipulated. No candidate will be permitted to enter the Examination Hall and write the test later than 30 minutes after the commencement of the test.
Based on the performance in the test, candidates will be called for an interview at short notice before the Selection Committee. Candidates may have to appear for a Clinical test during the interviews.
Candidates must come prepared to pay the fees and join the Post Graduate Course immediately thereafter.
Admission to various courses will be provisional and is subject to confirmation of eligibility by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). The decision of the University with regard to eligibility is final. The selected candidate should obtain the Eligibility Certificate personally from the University and submit it along with other certificates before paying the fees.
The duration of the various courses and syllabi will be as laid down by the RGUHS from time to time. The date of commencement of the classes will be notified as per the calendar of events of the RGUHS.
Any dispute regarding the admission procedure is subject to the jurisdiction of Courts in Bangalore only.
