JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Post-graduate Medical Education and Research)
Exam Details:
JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research) is the common entrance test being conducted by the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry.
The institute offers a number of medical and paramedical courses. Candidates who are willing to take admission into the medical courses offered by the JIPMER needs to take up the national level entrance exam JIPMER. JIPMER is the competitive entrance test for admission into the medical courses offered by the pioneered institute JIPMER which is based in Puducherry.

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicant must be an Indian National born on or before January 1, 1996
For UG courses, a candidate should have passed / appeared for Higher Secondary Course (10+2) / Equivalent.
For PG courses, the candidates must possess MBBS Degree recognized by the Medical Council of India
Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are also eligible.

Exam Pattern:
For PG Courses, the entrance examination will be of the standard of MBBS examination. Question paper consists of two parts such as
Part I - Basic Clinical Sciences including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology and Forensic Medicine & Toxicology.
Part II - Clinical Sciences including Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Community Medicine, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, ENT, Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Radio-diagnosis and Radio-therapy.
There shall be only one paper of three hours duration consisting of 250 multiple choice questions in which 100 question from Part I and 150 from Part II.

How to apply:
Candidates who are interested to take up JIPMER entrance exam can apply only through on-line access.
The prospectus detailing eligibility criteria, educational qualification, process of online application, payment of fees, etc. can be viewed / downloaded from JIPMER website.
After submission of online application, the print out of the application with assigned number should be posted along with required enclosures, photograph/finger prints, etc. to Professor (Academic), JIPMER, Dhanvantri Nagar PO, Puducherry - 605006 on or before last submission date JIPMER shall not be responsible for any postal delay.
For PG courses, candidates who have already done / are pursuing MD / MS in any subject at the time of counseling are not eligible for admission to MD / MS course at JIPMER.
